Phillip Bloch made his first entrance to the fashion world as a successful model.

He lived in Europe for eight years, working for some of the world’s most iconic designers and magazines, including Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Comme des Garcons, Yves Saint Laurent and L’Uomo Vogue. Once he decided to leave modeling, he began to apply his vast know-how, both from his time as a student at FIT and as a fashion editor. He soon became one of Hollywood’s most sought-after fashion stylists and one of the world’s most recognized fashion figures, as well as an actor, commentator, creative style director, designer and writer.

Phillip is credited with bringing Glamour back to Hollywood and creating extraordinary fashion moments by dressing an unprecedented 12 celebrities for the Oscars, including Sandra Bullock, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carrey, Angela Bassett and Salma Hayek. He is also the stylist that created the iconic looks for Halle Berry in the run-up to her historic Oscar win in 2002 and additionally masterminded her Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe wardrobe for INTRODUCING DOROTHY DANDRIDGE.

Phillip’s fashion- forward collaboration with Michael Jackson on his final two cover shoots for Ebony and Jet were legendary and timeless. He has also styled Nicole Kidman, Julianna Margulies, Lindsay Lohan, Claire Danes, Charlie Sheen, Johnny Depp and many more. His photo credits regularly grace the covers and inside layouts of Vogue, Vanity Fair, In Style and ELLE.

He has partnered as an ambassador and creative force with corporations such as Vogue, GM, Gillette, Nivea, Hugo Boss, Bloomingdale’s, Macys, Sears, Hanes, Maybelline and many more, adding style and glamour to these longstanding household names.

In 2013 and 2014, the NFL selected Phillip as Creative Style Director for their Women’s Apparel Division. In the course of his work with the NFL he has hosted Style Lounges throughout the country and curated fashion shows as part of the NFL and Vogue’s partnership. He also styled their ad campaigns. As a Creative Style Director he has notably collaborated with Möet & Chandon for their new product launches, Ross-Simons Jewelry, the St. Jude Children’s Hospital Charity Fashion Shows and Galas, Holly Robinson Peete’s HollyRod Foundation, and St. Petersburg Russia’s Fashion Week.

Phillip partnered with ABC News to produce and host his show CAUSE CELEB WITH PHILLIP BLOCH. The show plays to a global audience and provides an intimate and inspiring view of his Hollywood friends’ charitable and philanthropic projects. This show was developed to provide a different perspective on the Hollywood community and the causes they are immersed in and passionate about. Phillip Bloch Inc. has produced 28 interviews for CAUSE CELEB and has brought important attention to a variety of noteworthy causes. Some of these celebrity friends include Mary Louise Parker, Forrest Whitaker, Kristen Bell, Ivanka Trump, Gabrielle Union, Wendy Williams, Nick Jonas and Carmelo Anthony.

Phillip is a gifted actor and his conquest of television is complimented by his work on the big screen. He has appeared in Sacha Baron Cohen’s #1 movie BRUNO and in Oliver Stone’s WALL STREET 2. Phillip was cast in his first lead role alongside Judah Friedlander, Steve Harris and Shirley Caesar in the feature film THE UNSEEN. He was also cast in GOSPEL HILL (with Angela Bassett & Sam Jackson), DELIRIOUS (which premiered at the Sundance Festival) and DIRTY LAUNDRY, co-starring Rockmond Dunbar and Loretta Divine. Phillip also appeared in Jay Z’s DEATH OF A DYNASTY, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, as well as several indie film documentaries: THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE (premiered at Sundance Film Festival), HALSTON ULTRASUEDE, THE TENTS, and MICHAEL AND THE LAST PHOTO SHOOTS (scheduled for release in 2014).

As Phillip’s global star began to rise, he re-entered the world of design. His unique ability to forecast the trends has enabled him to become a talented creator and innovator. He conceived and successfully launched a line of jewelry on QVC in 2000; which did over $2 Million in less than two years – well ahead of the projections. In Spring 2006, Mattel gave Phillip an unprecedented commission: to give Barbie’s longtime love, Ken, a much-needed makeover.  He also partnered with Hush Puppies as a Guest Men’s Shoe Designer. Following their success, Hush Puppies and Kenmark enlisted Phillip to design an Eyewear Collection. In 2008 he debuted a holiday capsule cashmere collection at Toronto Fashion Week for the label, Phillip Bloch for Emma & Posh, as well as a men’s collection for Unruly Heir, which garnered attention from the media and exponential sales throughout the country and Canada.

In Fall 2010 Phillip released his second book, THE SHOPPING DIET – Economical and Emotional Solutions for Spending Less and Getting More, published by Simon and Schuster. This self-help book focuses on the psychology of overspending and society’s addiction to shopping. It teaches people how to understand their bodies and flaws so they can shop smarter. His first book, ELEMENTS OF STYLE, published by Warner Books in 1999, was an in-depth photo driven book that was based on Phillip’s celebrity portfolio as Hollywood’s premier stylist and illustrated how to capture Star Style. ELEMENTS OF STYLE features Phillip’s body of work, including collaborations and interviews with the industry’s premier designers, top photographers, hair and make-up artists. His writing is also featured in several other books: IF YOU HAD FIVE MINUTES WITH THE PRESIDENT, NEW YORK FASHION WEEK and ART & SOUL.

A master of brand building, his social media following and notoriety among bloggers, celebrities and influencers has made him a celebrity-lifestyle guru. From 2007 – 2009, he was a contributing writer for ABC WORLD NEWS NOW with a column focusing on today’s current events and pop culture. Phillip has also written for international magazines such as ELLE, FASHION QUARTERLY and DETOUR and contributes clever, witty commentaries on fashion and style for high-powered companies such as DKNY, Neiman Marcus, and Lady Foot Locker. Phillip filled the shoes of eBay’s Voice of Fashion from 2001 to 2004, where he posted trend alerts. While writing beauty and style columns he enhanced shopping on eBay for a more consumer friendly experience. As a part of his global media presence Phillip covered the New York and European collections for INSTYLE magazine as an editor at large.

It is Phillip’s years of commitment and purpose to charitable causes that led him to create, produce and host CAUSE CELEB WITH PHILLIP BLOCH. His passion for his philanthropic work continues. He has curated and created fashion shows for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital as well as traveled to South Africa and Botswana as a youth aids ambassador. Whether it is time, money or love, he gives his all to charities that are close to his heart, in particular, Revlon/Avon’s Breast Cancer Awareness after the passing of his mother due to breast cancer. When tragedy strikes our local and global community, Phillip has always been the first in the industry, be it Hollywood or Fashion, to step up and help raise funds for those in need. He did so after the September 11th, 2001 tragedy (here Phillip enlisted his celebrity and fashion designer friends to donate clothing to auction, with all proceeds of going to the Twin Towers Fund) the 2004 Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. When something has struck globally or nationally Phillip has always been one of the first in Hollywood and the fashion communities to participate.

Phillip Bloch currently resides in New York City and Los Angeles.
